Introduction Test

This is a test of an introduction I made for Group 13. It was to test different transitions and effects.

Music

Finding the correct music is a huge aspect for the film in my opinion. My searches for royalty free music led me to a website called Incompetech. This website is made up of music composed by Kevin MacLeod, whom allows his music to be used in non-profit media projects. This website has proven useful and I will be keeping a lookout for some suitable music over the coming weeks. We will need to find the right sort of music. This is one of the most important factors of our production as having the right type of music, sets the mood for the film. As we are concentrating on the horror genre, we will need to pick a slow and dark type of mood. If we pick the wrong mood of music, it will either not work at all or the audience will be confused. For example, as Connor is walking down the path at NewMillerDam, we will use slow and dark music to show danger and how Connor is being watched. If we used happy music on this part, as Connor is attacked, you can expect the audience to think that it could be some sort of comedy film and not take it serious. We also need to concentrate on the type of music we will need to be using on the introduction. We have had the idea to use the same music for the introduction and the opening scenes as it will lead straight into the film.

I found this trailer on Youtube and I thought it was relevant, as it involved a murderer in the house, which is related to our project.

The Horror Genre

This is our research into the horror genre. We have looked into this as our own two minute film has the same genre. This video explains all about the horror genre. This video will hopefully help us to think of a very suitable horror idea. We think that this could be the video that inspires us to do a very good first two minutes. The reason  why we have researched into a video into the horror genre is because, even though we know what is normally in a horror film, this video explains what is needed, what to include and how to show it.

A New Logo

New logo for Group 13. This was a very quick design made on paint to show what we would like our actual logo to look like. We then sent this idea to the person on Youtube to have a look and see how he could improve it and send it onto the introduction for us.

The Genre of Our Production

The genre of the film that we are making is going to be horror. We have agreed on this and researched into the genre. The reason why we have decided to focus on horror  is because we believe that we will be able to make a better film. This is because at the start of most horror films something happens which sets off the story. As we are doing the first two minutes of a film we will be able to get the audience interested straight away. Another reason why we have  chosen  to do the Horror genre is because Connor had lots of good ideas based upon this genre. We had also spoke about doing this genre at the beginning of the college year.

Embed Video Test

This theme song would work well with our film, as it has an eary presence to it. However we cannot use the theme for copyright reasons. This means that we will have to find a non copyright song for our two minute film.
